Two UK projects win at Annecy

Annecy Festival is a major international event taking place in June for animation industry professionals. This year, the programme featured 10 Creative Europe funded projects, six of which were in competition. In the end, it was the two British projects from that list that took home prizes.

Winning the Audience Award, Trademark Films Loving Vincent is the world's first fully painted feature film bringing to life the paintings of Vincent Van Gogh to tell his remarkable story. Every one of the 65,000 frames of the film is hand-painted by 115 professional oil-painters who travelled from all across Europe to the Loving Vincent studios to take part in this unique production.

Collecting the Cristal Award for Best TV Production was, Revolting Rhymes, an adaptation of the book by Roald Dahl that parodies well-known fairy tales with some extremely surprising twists, The two-part series received TV Programming funding and was produced by Magic Light Pictures.
