Two UK projects selected for Berlinale Co-production Market
The MEDIA-funded Berlinale Co-production Market (22-26 February) has chosen two UK films to participate this year.
The 17th edition of the market will highlight 36 feature film projects from 34 countries, whose producers are looking for co-production partners. With 1,500 pre-organised one-to-one meetings, filmmakers can meet international co-producers, film fund representatives, sales executives, TV broadcasters, distributors, and financiers from all over the world.
The two UK projects are:
- Winterreise, directed by Alex Helfrecht is one of 21 Official Project selections. These 21 films were chosen from 302 submissions, with budgets that range from €750,000 to €5 million.
- Little Boy Blue, directed by Tommaso Pitta was selected as part of the Talent Project Market strand, organised in co-operation with Berlinale Talents. With only ten projects picked from 166 submissions, the newcomer producers are granted the opportunity to present their films at the market.
