Two UK companies awarded TV Programming grants
In the most recent results from the TV Programming scheme, two UK companies, both of whom have received funding through this scheme before, were awarded grants totalling €277,097 towards their projects.
Orange Eyes were selected with their animation project The Snail and The Whale from the creators of The Gruffalo, Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. London-based documentary makers Brook Lapping Productions were selected for their project The People's Money - The Hunt for Gaddafi's Billions.
In total, 23 companies from 12 countries have been awarded funding in this round (call number EACEA/25/2018) for their drama, documentary and animation projects, sharing €6,134,850. 83% of the projects selected were European co-productions.
Two projects from Germany have been supported again, including Das Boot which received a further €1 million for its second series and Deutschland89 which received €500,000 for its third instalment. A spy thriller from Sweden titled Hamilton - based on the bestselling novel by Jan Guillou - was the only other project to recieve a grant of €1 million.
The country with the highest number of successful applications is France, with six companies receiving grants - as they did in the last year's round of funding.
