Three UK documentaries selected for IDFA Forum
The selection for the next IDFA Forum has been announced, including three projects from the UK. The MEDIA funded international co-finance and production market received over 680 submissions, selecting 57 projects from 23 countries.
The IDFA Forum facilitates opportunities for broadcasters, co-producers, distributors, film funds and sales agents to identify and invest in creative documentary products over three days of pitching sessions, meetings, round tables and screenings.
The UK titles include:
Price Wars (Dir: Rupert Russell)
A film about the global rise of violent conflicts over essential commodities - water, food, oil, minerals – and the chaotic market forces that fuel them.
The Rise and Fall of Bhutto (Dir: Ziad Zafar)
The dramatic untold story of Pakistan's first democratically elected leader Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who was toppled and executed by an American-backed military dictator in 1979.
The Trial of Ratko Mladic (Dir: Rob Miller & Henry A Singer)
The man accused of the worst atrocities in Europe since WWII; the biggest trial since Nuremberg; prosecution and defence fighting for justice; a multi-billion dollar court struggling to justify itself.
IDFA Forum 2017 takes place 20 – 22 November. Find out more about the Forum and selected titles on the IDFA Forum website.
