Scotland’s animation summit to focus on France
Scotland’s biggest animation gathering, MOVE Summit, will take place from 20 - 22 February this year in Edinburgh.
Born in 2016 as a collaboration between animation studios, Interference Pattern and Stampede, MOVE Summit has become the flagship conference for the Scottish animation sector – showcasing the best work from throughout the industry, offering an exciting space for professionals to gather together and get inspired.
MOVE 2019 is set to be the biggest yet – with capacity for 750 attendees over three days.
This year MOVE Summit’s international focus looks towards France. Creative Europe Desks in the UK and France have teamed up to strengthen French and Scottish links in the animation sector.
With the support of Creative Europe Desk UK - Scotland, MOVE 19 welcomes a delegation of French professionals including the presence of key names like Agnès Bizzaro from Cartoon Springboard, Moïra Marguin and Cécile Blondel from Gobelins -c onsidered the world’s most prestigious animation school - Clémence Bragard from animation association and festival AFCA - Association française du cinéma d'animation (French Association of Animated Cinema) and Margaux Lacoste from Relais Culture Europe / Creative Europe Desk France.

Creative Europe Desk UK - Scotland are committed to facilitating connections between Scotland’s creative sectors and European partners, as well as continuing to strengthen Scotland’s ties to key cultural organisations worldwide.
As part of this, MOVE 2019 will further explore the relationship between education and industry in Scotland’s animation sector and will address future challenges for animation in Scotland. Some of the highlights include the panel debate with French and Scottish professionals on retaining talent and building a thriving environment for animation.
Gobelins and Cartoon delegates will also have specific sessions on Wednesday 20 February as part of the MOVE 19’ Emerging Talent Day and Cartoon will also be available for one-to-one meetings. Furthermore, the programme includes short film screenings of Gobelins student films as well as a French animation programme curated by Clemence Bragard (AFCA).
Alberto and Margaux will have a stand at the MOVE Summit and will be available for one-to-one meetings on 21 and 22 February.
