HBF+Europe 2016 co-production selection announced
International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) has announced the next four projects to benefit from their HBF+Europe: Minority Co-production Support scheme, each receiving a contribution of €55,000. The selection includes co-producers from Greece, France and the Netherlands, and one of the titles involves UK production company Soda Pictures.
The selected titles are:
- Fireflies, by Bani Khoshnoudi (Mexico, Greece)
- I Am Not a Witch, by Rungano Nyoni (Zambia, France, UK, The Netherlands)
- Rojo, by Benjamin Naishtat (Argentina, Brazil, The Netherlands, France, Germany)
- The Day I Lost My Shadow, by Soudade Kaadan (Lebanon, France)
HBF+Europe is funded through Creative Europe’s International Co-production Funds scheme, and is designed to encourage European producers to participate as a minority co-producer in high-quality feature film projects by filmmakers from Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and parts of Eastern Europe.
The programme also features the HBF+Europe: Distribution Support fund, which offers financial support to the distribution of feature films by filmmakers from the regions listed above.
