Five UK filmmakers selected for IFFR's Rotterdam Lab
IFFR’s 50th-anniversary edition will take place in an extended format in 2021. The festival’s industry programme IFFR Pro Days, which includes CineMart and the Rotterdam Lab, will take place online from 1 to 5 February.
Initiated in 2001, The Rotterdam Lab is a five-day training programme for emerging producers, organised during the CineMart (supported by Creative Europe’s Access to Markets scheme), the renowned annual co-production financing forum for feature films held during the International Film Festival Rotterdam (which also received support through Creative Europe's Film Festivals scheme).
The aim of the Rotterdam Lab is to give producers at the start of their careers the opportunity to develop international market experience and knowledge through privileged access to CineMart participants, panel discussions and round table sessions.
The latest cohort of producers has been revealed, with five UK participants having been nominated by IFFR Pro partners and subsequently selected. They are:
- Jen Corcoran of Freya Films, nominated by British Council
- David Brown of Gallus Film, nominated by Screen Scotland
- Laura McBride of Lothian Films, nominated by Creative Scotland
- Nadira Murray of Sylph Productions, nominated by Screen Scotland
- Alice Lusher of ie ie Productions, nominated by British Council

The 2021 edition of IFFR will have two runs with CineMart and industry activity taking place 1 – 7 February and a second run of the festival 2 - 6 June connected by a series of events in between.
