Abandon Normal Devices’ festival in the forest
On 18 -20 September Abandon Normal Devices (AND) presents a festival of new cinema, digital culture and art in the rural setting of Grizedale Forest, in the heart of the Lake District. For three days the forest will be transformed into a laboratory for filmmakers, artists, creative technologists, philosophers and scientists, and visitors can interact, watch and explore a virtual reality experience, short film, an exhibition, a sculpture trail and other activities across the woodland area.
The festival is part of their Creative Europe-supported Cooperation Project, Masters & Servers: Networked Culture in the Post-Digital Age, working with partners in Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, the UK and Spain. This small Cooperation Project was awarded €199,990 and is a two-year project focusing on looking at a new generation of digital intervention.
