Zog is an animated half-hour Christmas special based on the much-loved children's picture book of the same name, written in 2010 by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. The programme is produced by Magic Light Pictures, the same team behind popular MEDIA-funded shows such as The Highway Rat, The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo’s Child and Room on the Broom.
Zog is the story of a loveable, accident-prone dragon finding his way in a magical, yet challenging world.
Airing on Christmas Day on BBC One in 2018, the special is voiced by a stellar cast of British acting talent, including Kit Harington, Sir Lenny Henry, Hugh Skinner, Patsy Ferran and Tracey Ullman.
