Film and Music Entertainment was formed by Mike Downey and Sam Taylor in January 2000. The company now has over 30 films under its belt, including a winner of the Golden Lion in Venice, an Academy Award Nominee and multiple official entries in film festivals.
The projects supported on this slate that have been announced are:
- Elvis Walks Home (2017)
Mickey, an illegal Albanian who used to live in London, is a part time Elvis Presley impersonator who gets a job entertaining British peacekeeping troops in the 1999 Balkans wars. When backstage problems ensue, Mickey (dressed as Elvis Presley) flees - straight into the war zone. He meets and is captured by a group of children refugees caught up in the merciless war. The film is a co-production with Albania.
- Tom of Finland (2017)
Award-winning filmmaker Dome Karukoski brings to screen the life and work of artist Touko Valio Laaksonen (aka Tom of Finland), one of the most influential and celebrated figures of twentieth century gay culture.
