The Film Garage is a training programme for European scriptwriters developing feature length genre films (horror, thriller, action and road movies). Over a six month period and across three sessions, nine screen writers work with the support of experienced European industry trainers to fully develop their genre scripts.
During the first session, nine participants (scriptwriters, directors, producers) participate in a four-day evaluation workshop coordinated by three tutors and three different professionals active in different fields (producers/script editor/film director). The participants work on their projects both in one to one meetings and in peer to peer sessions in order to focus on:
- the potential target and audience of the projects;
- underlining things to be fixed in the stories;
- how to develop the story in a new solid treatment;
The participants then rewrite their projects during the online second session following the suggestions and feedback from the tutors. The third sesson involves pitching presentations during the Noir in Festival, which several producers and sales agents from the audio-visual industry attend in order to evaluate the projects and contact the participants.
