FRED at School is an audience development project supported by Creative Europe's MEDIA sub-programme and presented by FRED Film Radio.

This conference, presented in association with Creative Europe Desk UK, will highlight the achievements of the first edition of the project and detail its potential expansion for the future.

As part of the FRED at School project, secondary-school students in eight countries have had the opportunity to watch and discuss four European films (selected as part of the European Parliament’s LUX Prize) before recording and sharing their reactions and criticism on the FRED at School radio platform. The selected films were:

  • Illegal (Belgium), directed by Olivier Masset-Depasse
  • Akadimia Platinos (Greece), directed by Filippos Tsitos
  • Eat Sleep Die (Sweden), directed by Gabriela Pichler
  • Shun Li and the Poet (Italy), directed by Andrea Segre

The event, which is addressed to teachers, film literacy experts and members of the film industry, will also present the results of a film literacy research study conducted as part of the project.

The conference will be accessible for the visually and hearing impaired (with live subtitles and audio description).
