Boddi mewn Celfyddyd / Drowning in Art Conference in Llanuwchllyn, Wales
Urdd Camp Glan Llyn, Llanuwchllyn
Catrin Cooke, Culture Manager at Creative Europe Desk UK – Wales, is attending Boddi mewn Celfyddyd / Drowning in Art Conference in Llanuwchllyn, Wales, and will be available to talk about Creative Europe's funding and opportunities for cultural, creative and heritage projects.
The conference is organised by the School of Music and School of Welsh, Bangor University and the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol and is held on the 50th anniversary of the flooding of Cwm Celyn in 1965, which drowned culture, local history and tradition in its wake. This gathering is an opportunity to collate and appreciate the artistic legacy inspired by the flooding of the valley in a special two-day conference at a unique location near Tryweryn. As part of the conference, there will be an opportunity to visit Tryweryn, as well as to enjoy a selection of the drama commissioned and produced originally by Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru and Clwyd Theatr Cymru, Porth y Byddar by Manon Eames, under the direction of Siwan Llynor, who hails from Bala.
The conference will be held through the medium of Welsh.
