2017 LUX Film Prize Shortlist Announced

IDFA Forum 2017 Entry Deadline

The deadline for entry is almost here! Filmmakers be aware: there's only one week left to enter your film for IDFA Forum 2017. The final deadline for entry is August 15.
Once again more than 250 documentaries will be selected, running the gamut from international audience favorites to artistic experiments at the fringes of the genre. IDFA also showcases interactive documentaries and other non-fiction forms of digital storytelling, games, apps, installations and media art.

New funding for Masters that combine creativity and technology

The European Commission has launched an experimental call for proposals to design advanced, interdisciplinary modules for Master degrees amounting to €1.5 million. The modules should combine arts and ICT with entrepreneurial skills and business exposure.
Creative industries are experiencing a significant skills gap at the crossing of creativity and technology. This call, funded through Creative Europe, hopes to endorse an interdisciplinary approach in Masters and university courses by nurturing cross-sectorial curricula that combine technology with art.

Four UK production companies awarded Slate development funding

The latest results from Creative Europe’s Slate Funding scheme (call number EACEA 21/2016) have been published, with four UK companies successfully securing funding to develop fiction, creative documentary and animation projects for cinema and television. Together they share grants totalling €710,000, they are:
