Shape the future of Creative Europe at MIPCOM

The European Commission are hosting a session about the future of Creative Europe’s MEDIA sub-programme at the MIPCOM this October.
‘MEDIA programme beyond 2020: connecting content, financing and audiences’ will explore how MEDIA funding should best develop to support the changing landscape of the TV sector. With audience expectations and technology constantly evolving, representatives from Creative Europe will ask how the sub-programme should meet the demands of these challenges beyond the current funding cycle.

London Film Festival announces panel event on Brexit

The London Film Festival returns to the capital this October showcasing 242 feature films and 128 shorts from 67 countries. This includes 25 feature films funded through Creative Europe’s MEDIA sub-programme, including official competition contender Andrew Haigh’s Lean on Pete and UK/Irish co-production The Killing of a Sacred Deer by Yorgos Lanthimos.

International Film Festival Rotterdam reimagines PRO Days activities

International Film Festival Rotterdam has announced a series of changes to its IFFR PRO Days industry programme.
From next year, IFFR will expand on its PRO activities by revamping the co-production market CineMart, applying a more tailored approach to meeting scheduling, and by merging the audience oriented activities of IFFR LIVE with a curated distribution conference called Reality Check.

UK project selected for Holland Film Meeting Co-Pro Platform

Lindy Heymann’s Rum Doxy Driver has been selected as one of 24 projects to be presented at Holland Film Meeting at the end of September.
The film is an adaptation of Sara Stockbridge’s acclaimed novel, Hammer, about a Victorian female pickpocket, and is pitched as part of HFM’s Co-Pro Platform by Liverpool-based producers Hurricane Films.
