We are recruiting for a Promotions Co-ordinator to join the Creative Europe Desk UK team and help the UK’s creative, cultural and audiovisual sectors to access funding and opportunities from Creative Europe.

Role: The post will manage various promotional activities relating to the MEDIA sub-programme, overseeing content on our website, newsletter, social media channels and printed publications. 

Contract: Fixed-term, full time. 

Location: British Film Institute in London.

11 MEDIA-supported films at Glasgow Film Festival

The full programme has been announced for Glasgow Film Festival 2020. From 26 February to 8 March, one of the UK’s largest film festivals will host over 380 film screenings, talks and special events. 

Some of the most-anticipated films in the programme are MEDIA-supported features.

European Film Forum and Creative Europe events at Berlinale

This year’s European Film Forum entitled Greener Pastures: Towards a Sustainable Audiovisual Industry, is dedicated to the topic of sustainability within the industry, and will take place on Monday 24 February from 2:00pm to 4:30pm. Film makers, producers and audiovisual organisations have started to make more and more content about climate change. Film and audiovisual productions are a tool to raise awareness.

16 MEDIA-backed projects have been selected at Berlinale

16 MEDIA-backed projects have been selected at Berlinale.  

The 70th annual Berlin International Film Festival is scheduled to take place from 20 February to 1 March 2020, and within this year’s programme 16 MEDIA-supported films have been selected. 

These features were granted funding via various Creative Europe MEDIA sub-programme schemes including, amongst others, Development: Slate Funding and Development: Single Project.

Mr Jones 

In 1933, Welsh journalist Gareth Jones risks his life to expose the truth about the devastating famine in the Soviet Union. 

Directed by Agnieszka Holland, the film received support through the Automatic distribution scheme.

Released in cinemas on 7 February by Signature Entertainment, the film will also be available to stream on Creative Europe-supported Curzon Home Cinema.
