IFFR unveils line-ups for its Signatures and Limelight strands

The 48th International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) has presented the full line-up of Signatures, the festival’s programme dedicated to established film auteurs and seasoned filmmakers.

In the Signature programme, the UK is represented by the following films:

  • Ceremony (UK/Germany/Ukraine), directed by Phil Collins
  • High Life (Germany/France/USA/UK/Poland), directed by Claire Denis

In the Limelight programme, four UK projects have been selected. These are:

2019 Europa Cinemas Innovation Prize open for applications

The second edition of the Europa Cinemas Innovation Prize is now open. The prize, initiated with the support of Creative Europe’s MEDIA sub-programme, is designed to recognise outstanding innovative actions implemented by one or several member cinemas which have the potential to embolden other exhibitors. 

The €10,000 prize will be awarded by a representative of the European Commission at the upcoming Europa Cinemas Exhibitors Meeting on 19 May 2019 during the Cannes Film Festival. 

Four UK producers selected for Rotterdam Lab 2019

Initiated in 2001, The Rotterdam Lab is a five-day training programme for emerging producers, organised during the CineMart (supported by Creative Europe’s Access to Markets scheme), the renowned annual co-production financing forum for feature films held during the International Film Festival Rotterdam (which also received support through Creative Europe's Film Festivals scheme). 

UK film Nowhere Special selected for Berlinale Co-production Market

22 feature film projects have been selected to participate in the 16th edition of the Berlinale Co-production Market, a four-day event that brings together over 500 international producers, sales agents, distributors and funding representatives active in co-productions.

Throughout the Berlin International Film Festival, the event sees more than 1000 one-on-one meetings arranged, tailor-made to the criteria of each individual project and designed to encourage the exploration of new partnerships.
