MEDIA-funded films at Sheffield Doc/Fest 2019

The UK's biggest documentary festival returns this June for its 26th edition, with a film programme of over 180 documentary features and shorts, including 28 digital art projects, alongside a programme of special events, talks and more than 40 industry sessions. 

Under the theme 'Ways of Seeing', inspired by John Berger's book of the same name, this year Sheffield Doc/Fest are showcasing a multitude of voices and perspectives and the multiple ways of experiencing non-fiction.

Two UK projects to receive EFP support at Sydney Film Festival 2019

European Film Promotion - supported through Creative Europe's Access to Markets scheme - has selected the projects to feature in its showcase 'Europe! Voices of Women in Film' at the upcoming edition of the Sydney Film Festival (5 -16 June). First launched in 2016, the programme recognises new works by some of Europe's most exciting women directors and presents them to audiences, press and industry attendees in a dedicated section of the festival. 

Doc Market is an opportunity for filmmakers to meet with top decision makers including international funders, broadcasters, distributors and exhibitors on a one to one basis.

ON THE BLOG: Notes on Brexit from Cannes

Creative Europe Desk UK's director Agnieszka Moody joined a panel to reflect on the future of the UK screen sector and the impact of the Creative Europe programme at the 'Beyond Brexit' session in Cannes on Sunday.

Taking place at the UK Film Centre - the industry's touchpoint and meeting place for advice and information on UK films and co-productions - other panellists included Harriet Finney, director of External Affairs at the BFI, Christine Eloy, general manager at Europa Distribution and Malte Grunert, a producer at Amusement Park in Germany.
