ON THE BLOG: in conversation with Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival

For the past 15 years, Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival (BFMAF) has attracted local and international filmmakers and moving image artists with the opportunity to showcase their work in a unique environment. Take for instance, the presence of Lav Diaz who didn’t attend the premiere of his latest film The Halt at the Cannes Film Festival but travelled to attend the screening in this small picturesque town in Northumberland because (in his own words) “it is much nicer than Cannes”.

UK project selected for 5th edition of Bridging the Dragon

Bridging the Dragon has announced the 16 projects - eight of which are European and eight of which are Chinese - that will take part in the 5th edition of its Sino-European Project Lab.

Funded through Creative Europe's Access to Markets scheme, the Lab is an immersive workshop designed to foster collaboration between Europe and China and overcome cultural differences.

Creative Europe Desk UK - Scotland are proud to launch a series of MEDIA Preview Screenings in Scottish cinemas alongside discussions with the producers behind those films. 

Two UK Training schemes awarded second-round grants

The latest results for the MEDIA sub-programme's Training scheme (call number EACEA/46/2018) have been revealed. The European Commission have renewed the second year activities of 46 training programmes from 17 countries, after the initial call for proposals in 2018, in which 49 programmes were awarded a three-year Framework Partnership Agreement. 

Two training programmes from the UK were included in the renewals, sharing a total of just over €307,000.
