Bridging The Dragon offers coaching sessions for UK producers

MEDIA-funded Acces to Markets intitative Bridging the Dragon will run a special online and interactive coaching session for UK and New Zealand producers on 16 October at 8am BST.
Following the recent Project Lab call for applications, several producers without a project expressed their interest to learn more about the Chinese film landscape. To address this, Bridging the Dragon will now host a series of informal online coaching sessions for producers.

Co-Production Club 2020 - cohort announced

18 UK-based producers have been selected for the second edition of our Co-Production Club from 5-9 October 2020; our online three-day lab designed to take participants through the basics of putting a co-production together, from treaties and conventions to legal agreements and sources of finance.

Seven MEDIA funded films selected at the 2020 Venice Film Festival

At the end of July the Venice Film Festival announced its line-up with three main sections: Venezia 77, Out Of Competition and Orizzonti.
Venice is the first major festival of the year to take place as a physical edition since Sundance and Berlin after festivals as Cannes and Telluride had been cancelled.
The Creative Europe MEDIA sub-programme is represented across the festival’s different sections:

UK companies awarded €1.4 million to promote films online

Results have been published for the 2020 deadline of the Promotion of European Audiovisual Works Online scheme (Call EACEA/23/2019, deadline 05/05/2020) with 44 projects being selected from 18 different countries, including four from the UK.

Four UK films longlisted for the European Film Awards

The European Film Academy and EFA Productions have announced 32 films for the first part of the EFA Film Selection; the second part will be announced in September.
The films will be recommended for a nomination for the European Film Awards 2020, when 3,800 members of the European Film Academy will screen the selected films.

Pitch at the Schlingel Festival for Children and Young Audiences

Taking place from 10 to 17 October in Chemnitz, Germany, this MEDIA-funded festival for children and young audiences is looking for projects for two of its industry initiatives:
- Pitch Your Treatment
This runs as part of the industry forum and is aimed for writers to present their treatments for projects they are wanting to develop. 10 treatments will be presented at the pitching sessions on 15 and 16 October to invited guests.
