International Learning Disability Live Performance and Touring Event

On Monday 23 March, Mind the Gap held its first International Learning Disability Live Performance and Touring Event, which you can read about on Storify.

This event was part of Crossing the Line, a Small Cooperation Project which received a grant of €200,000 from Creative Europe in 2014. Crossing the Line aims to develop opportunities and new skills for learning-disabled performers/actors. 

Mies van der Rohe Award finalists announced

uropean Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture / Mies van der Rohe Award

The five finalists of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture / Mies van der Rohe Award were announced in London earlier in March. A building in London was selected as a finalist, the Saw Swee Hock Student Centre at the London School of Economics, which was designed by Irish architects O’Donnell + Tuomey. The final five finalists will present their projects before the Jury decides the overall winner of the Prize, as well as the Emerging Architect Prize, at a celebration at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona on 8 May. 

EUPL Winner Evie Wyld speaks at Dulwich Books

The UK Winner of the European Union Prize for Literature (EUPL) Evie Wyld spoke at Dulwich Books on Wednesday 18 March about her novel All the Birds, Singing. The author was in conversation with critic and writer Laura Bartnett, and she elaborated on her award-winning novel which tells the tale of Jake Whyte, the sole resident of an old farmhouse on an unnamed British island.

PLATFORM shift+ is a 4 year programme, supported by Creative Europe, connecting 11 cultural partners across Europe to meet the challenges and take the opportunities of producing theatre work for young people in an age when they as audiences and participants move fluidly between their real and virtual lives. PLATFORM shift+ aims to enable theatre-makers to connect with and reflect young people's reality and inspire them with a belief in theatre as a unique live medium for modern times.
