Five UK publishers awarded Literary Translation support

Five UK-based publishing organisations are being awarded €245,000 to produce, promote and translate slates of literary works from one European language to another.
In the results of 2018's Literary Translation call, a strand in Creative Europe's Culture sub-programme, publishing houses from England and Wales are among those selected for either Slate or Framework Partnership Agreement (FPA) funding.

Creative Europe project helps PRS Foundation CEO join Beyonce in BBC Power List

Vanessa Reed of PRS Foundation has won the number three spot on the BBC Woman’s Hour Power List of the 40 most powerful women in the music industry.
The top five on the list are Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Vanessa Reed, CEO of the PRS Foundation, Adele and Stacey Tang, Managing Director of RCA UK.
PRS Foundation is the lead partner in Creative Europe-supported Cooperation Project Keychange, which promotes the role of women in music and raises awareness of the gender gap in music across Europe.

Open call for choreographers: Aerowaves Twenty

Aerowaves is a Creative Europe-supported hub for dance discovery in Europe with a network of partners in 33 countries. The network is looking for the next 20 talented emerging choreographers based in geographical Europe.
You can now apply to become a Twenty19 artist with a chance of having your work programmed at Spring Forward Festival in 2020 in Val de Marne (Paris’ region) and by the Aerowaves partners.

"Expect the unexpected" - look back at our Edinburgh reception

On 20 August 2018 – at the heart of the Edinburgh festivals – we were joined by over 150 people for our 4th annual Creative Europe panel and networking drinks.
The event was kicked off by Kate Deans, Creative Europe Desk UK - Scotland, whose welcome speech celebrated Scotland's deepening appetite for cross-border collaboration:

Join Creative Scotland, Publishing Scotland and Creative Europe Desk UK for a free half-day event focusing on the benefits and challenges of including translated titles on your lists.
Culture specialist Stephanie Grant will be in Liverpool for a day of bookable one to one meetings to discuss the Culture sub programme funding opportunities of Creative Europe. A meeting would be particularly useful for anyone interested in developing a Cooperation Project for the upcoming call this autumn.
Katie James from Creative Europe Desk UK-Wales will be in attendance throughout the event and available to discuss Culture sub-programme funding opportunities.
