Interreg V-A: Cross-border co-operationThe Channel Circus Arts Alliance (2009- 2010) aimed to spread circus works on both sides of the Channel and contribute to the development of a network of circus professionals with expanded distribution and production possibilities.
La Brèche National Centre for Circus Arts of Lower Normandy, (FR), Lighthouse Poole's Centre for the Arts (UK) and Activate Performing Arts (UK) collaborated on a wide range of activities including:
- Organisation of interregional professional meetings in France and UK
- Cross-border circus festivals
- Artist-in-residency programmes
- Workshops
- Creation of teaching toolkits for schools
The project evolved into the Interreg-supported PASS project, a follow-on from the Channel Circus Arts Alliance project that ran from 2010 – 2014.
The PASS project widened the Channel Circus Arts Alliance, introducing five new partners into the network, and focussed on four areas of co-operation: production, distribution, training, and seminars and professional meetings.
