Applications open for Literary Translation support

The 2018 call for Literary Translation is open with a deadline of 23 May at 11am (GMT). The opportunity supports the translation, production and promotion of literary works from one European language to another. 

Eligible works include novels, short stories, children's fiction, comics/graphic novels, poetry and plays. Under-represented genres are particularly favoured.

Katie is responsible for promoting and facilitating Creative Europe’s Culture sub-programme in Wales. She works three days a week as Culture Manager at Creative Europe Desk UK - Wales, which is hosted by the Welsh Government’s Creative Industries Sector.

Producing for the international market

In December 2017, Creative Europe Desk UK ran an event aimed at producers interested in developing and co-producing feature films for the international market.

The day-long programme covered international training opportunities, co-production case studies and European funding schemes with speakers from EAVE, Erich Pommer Institut and ACE Producers.

Register for the MEDIA stands at Cannes and MIFA

MEDIA stand

Registration is open for two MEDIA Umbrella Stands at major industry markets.

Marché du Film - Cannes Film Festival

Creative Europe will host a MEDIA stand in the European Pavilion at this year's Cannes Film Festival. There will also be MEDIA area for sales agents in the Marina Club. 

250 places will be available on the MEDIA Umbrella Stand offering a discounted accreditation rate of either:

UK films receive marketing support from EFP in Asia

UK sales agents and films have received a promotional boost from European Film Promotion (EFP) at this year’s FILMART which takes places from 19 to 22 March in Hong Kong.

EFP has dedicated a total of €106,000 via their Film Sales Support (FSS) scheme which reimburses European sales companies for the promotion and marketing of European films outside of Europe.
