Seven UK companies receive over €2 million to promote European films and TV online

Results from the first call for the Promotion of European Audiovisual Works Online scheme (26/2016) have been published, with 37 projects recommended for selection across Europe, sharing grants totalling of €9,462,504.

14 applications from the UK were submitted, half of which were selected for funding, sharing non-repayable grants of €2,203,119. This equates to 23% of the programme-wide budget.

Six of the grants made were to support the promotion of UK-based VOD platforms that programme a significant percentage of European content. Campaigns for the following UK-based platforms were supported:

Additionally, The Polka Dot Factory received a grant to develop their innovative film discovery app Cues, which aims to develop potential audiences for European films.
