My Life As A Courgette

A bittersweet, poetic stop-motion animation film and portrait of the harsh reality of an orphanage, tenderly adapted from Gilles Paris’ novel by Claude Barras.

Supported through the Automatic distribution scheme, Soda Pictures release the film on 5 May.

 

Frantz

Shot with black-and-white photography, Frantz is a story of romance, grief and guilt. In a small German town after World War I, Anna mourns daily at the grave of her fiance´ Frantz, killed in battle in France. One day she notices a young Frenchman, Adrien, also laying flowers at the grave, and a bond that will change their lives forever begins to form.

Frantz is supported through the Automatic distribution scheme for its release in a number of European countries including the UK, where it is released by Curzon on 12 May.

 

The Secret Scripture

The hidden memoir of an elderly woman confined to a mental hospital reveals the history of her passionate yet tortured life, and of the religious and political upheavals in Ireland during the 1920s and 30s.

Supported at development stage, the Irish film comes to UK screens on 19 May with Vertigo Releasing.

 

The Red turtle

A man marooned on a desert island tries desperately to escape, until one day he encounters a strange turtle that will change his life.

Supported for its release in Czech Republic, Studio Canal release the film in the UK on 26 May.
