Film Festivals results announced
The latest results for the Film Festivals scheme have been published, with 27 organisations from 18 countries receiving funding. The successful applicants share nearly €1.4 million.
The festivals scheme supports festivals that programme a majority of European films from at least 15 countries participating in the MEDIA sub-programme and in particular those that demonstrate a commitment to developing new audiences and increasing levels of film literacy through various outreach activities.
In total there were 153 applications from 32 countries submitted to the 28 April deadline (call reference EACEA/16/2015). From those selected, 74% are from low audiovisual production capacity countries.
Among the projects to receive grants, three focus on documentary, two are short film festivals and six are for young audiences.
