Eurimages supports 16 co-productions with €4.5 million

At its 142nd meeting, held from 8 to 11 March in Albania, the Council of Europe's cinema support fund, Eurimages, agreed to support 16 co-productions with a total of €4,485,494.

The 13 fiction projects and three documentaries selected include Thelema by Joachim Trier (Norway, Denmark, France), Happy End by Michael Haneke (France, Germany, Austria) and Lida, a documentary by Anna Eborn (Denmark, Sweden). The full list of films can be found on the Eurimages website.

Eurimages has recently begun to investigate the possibility of expansion beyond Europe, with Canada making an official application to become a full member of the fund in Berlin earlier this year. The Council of Europe is reviewing the European Convention on Cinematographic Co-Production, with a view to exploring reforms that would open up funding to non-European countries.
