44 European films at the American Film Market
Creative Europe-funded network European Film Promotion (EFP) has been present at the American Film Market (AFM) in Santa Monica (USA) this week, with various activities designed to boost the presence and sales of European films.
EFP has backed the marketing of 44 films from 13 European countries at AFM through its Film Sales Support (FSS) scheme, which supports the promotion of European films at international festivals and markets. In addition, EFP has been running a European Umbrella Office where 30 European production and sales companies and institutions were offered a working base.
Among the films presented are seven UK productions:
- Elstree 1976
- Level Up
- My Curious Documentary
- The Confessions of Thomas Quick
- The Fear of 13
- Urban Hymn
This took place alongside Industry Screenings of 27 Oscar®-submitted European films, organised by EFP.
Amongst the FSS-supported films for sale at the AFM are European submissions for Best Foreign Language Oscar®, Creative Europe-funded Belgian drama The Brand New Testament (Le tout nouveau testament).
Supported by Creative Europe's MEDIA sub-programme, the European Reception at the AFM attracted the international film industry. For the first time, EFP and UniFrance films joined forces to host this popular networking event on the first day of the Market.
