Watch EU-funded The Assembly of Animals in Edinburgh
If you’re in Edinburgh next week for the festivals, then try and catch The Assembly of Animals, a performed sculpture combining puppetry, magic and scientific demonstration by visual artist and performance maker Tim Spooner. Showing at Summerhall in Edinburgh from 23-29 August 2015, children and adults alike are invited to observe the inner workings of a laboratory and the experiments that reveal surreal surprises and animals within animals.
The Assembly of Animals is produced by Artsadmin and is a co-production with TJP-CDN d’Alsace-Strasbourg, as part of Bamboo, which is a Cooperation Project supported by the EU Culture Programme.
Bamboo was a Small Cooperation Project that brought together 6 European partners to support and promote the co-production and the trans-national circulation of new works for young audiences created by 7 European artists coming from different artistic fields, encompassing performing arts, visual arts, music, illustration and design. The project was awarded a grant of €183,000 in 2013 from the EU Culture programme (which ran from 2007-2013, prior to Creative Europe).
The Assembly of Animals has been selected as part of the British Council Edinburgh Showcase 2015 and it has been shortlisted for the Sustainable Practice Award 2015.
