New call for pilot project supporting networks of young creative entrepreneurs

The European Commission has announced a new call for proposals for a pilot project, which aims to create a platform that would bring together existing networks of young entrepreneurs active in the cultural and creative sectors in the EU and in third countries. The project builds on and responds to various European Commission and European Parliament initiatives, in particular the final report of the Preparatory Action on Culture in External Relations, in which young entrepreneurs and players in the cultural and creative industries in third countries showed interest in networking and engaging with their European counterparts and leading practitioners in their sectors. A list of the eligible third countries can be found in the guidelines.

The pilot project aims to support activities such as coaching, peer-learning, conferences on specific topics, study visits and participation in match-making events with representatives of cultural and creative sectors around the world. Full details are outlined in the guidelines and other documents on the European Commission website.

The total budget, estimated at €800,000, will be allocated to one single project and this grant will cover up to 80% of eligible costs over a period of 24 months, with at least 20% of the total eligible costs being financed from other sources. Eligible applicants must be a public or private organisation (a single entity or a consortium) active in the cultural and creative sectors, with registered legal office in one of the 28 EU Member States.

The deadline for applications is on 15 September 2015.
