Verdi's La traviata

Watch Verdi's La traviata on The Opera Platform

The Opera Platform has now launched. Verdi's La traviata was the first opera to be broadcast and showcased on The Opera Platform, and the performance, which took place at Teatro Real, Madrid on 8 May, can be viewed for free for 6 months.

La traviata was a co-production between Welsh National Opera, Scottish Opera, Gran Teatre del Liceu and Teatro Real, Madrid. The Opera Platform is a Cooperation Project supported by Creative Europe. The project received €1,855,688 in 2014 and brings together a partnership between Opera Europa, representing 155 opera companies and festivals; the cultural broadcasting channel ARTE; and 15 carefully selected theatres from across Europe. Two UK-based opera companies are taking part in Opera Europa Digital Platform: Welsh National Opera, Cardiff and the Royal Opera House, London.
