Creative Europe MEDIA supports 30 audiovisual markets
Creative Europe MEDIA will support over 30 trade events and markets for the European audiovisual industry aiming to facilitate European and international co-production by creating an environment where buyers and content owners can meet, network and negotiate deals. The supported events, which will take place in 2015 and 2016, are targeting feature films, documentary, animation, cross-media and video games.
The majority of projects selected in this round are well established initiatives, such as Cartoon Forum, IDFA Forum or Nordisk Panorama, but there are also newly-supported events including Meetings on the Bridge in Istanbul, Turkey, organised by Istanbul Foundation for Arts and Culture.
Three selected markets come from the UK and were supported by MEDIA in the past. They are: Film London’s Production Finance Market, Sheffield Doc/Fest’s MeetMarket and Power to the Pixel’s the Pixel Market.
Most events are focused on Europe, but there are also those that offer an opportunity to develop international networks, for example Ventana Sur, a major Latin American market taking place in Buenos Aires in Argentina, or ACE Co-production Labs in Hong Kong.
European Games Booster receives funding for the second time and is the only event dedicated to games, while Cross Video Days in Paris focus on crossmedia digital content. European Film Awards, taking place in Berlin on 12 December 2015, were also supported.
Take look at the EACEA website to see a list of all 32 supported projects and keep in touch with us to be reminded when each of these events is calling for participation and project submissions. We’ll see you around!
