FUTURE FRAMES: Ten new filmmakers to follow
From July, European Film Promotion (EFP) puts the focus on a selection of ten outstanding film students and graduates, ushering in a new generation of directors from film schools throughout Europe through their new initiative, Future Frames: Ten New Filmmakers To Follow.
Taking place at the 50th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) in the Czech Republic (3 to 11 July 2015), EFP will introduce the ten upcoming directors and their films to the public, industry and press during the three day event running from 5 to 7 July 2015.
Irish director James Fitzgerald joins the line-up with his film Skunky Dog, alongside directors from Belgium, Greece, Switzerland and Hungary, amongst others. The participants were nominated by the EFP member organisations according to artistic quality, content and international appeal, with the final selection being made by KVIFF.
The programme, aimed at creating a greater awareness for new, groundbreaking European cinema and the promising directing talent behind it, is supported by Creative Europe's MEDIA sub-programme.
As a forum for filmmakers, producers, distributors, sales agents, festival programmers and press, KVIFF is regarded as a key international event, acting as a bridge between the countries and cultures of Western, Central and Eastern Europe, and continues to foster its reputation as a hub for young cinema.
