Two UK Training schemes awarded second-round grants
The latest results for the MEDIA sub-programme's Training scheme (call number EACEA/46/2018) have been revealed. The European Commission have renewed the second year activities of 46 training programmes from 17 countries, after the initial call for proposals in 2018, in which 49 programmes were awarded a three-year Framework Partnership Agreement.
Two training programmes from the UK were included in the renewals, sharing a total of just over €307,000.
- Developing Your Film Festival; organised by the Independent Cinema Office
- Inside Pictures; organised by the National Film & Television School
The total amount allocated to the co-financing of these second year activities is just over €7.3million. The country with the highest number of proposals is France with seven, followed by Germany with six and the Czech Republic and the Netherlands with five each.
The Training scheme is designed to support activities that promote the acquisition and improvement of skills by audiovisual professionals, as well as knowledge sharing and networking initiatives. It is particularly focused on expertise in the following fields:
- audience development, marketing and new models of distribution
- financial and business management
- innovation in content development
