Two MEDIA-supported films receive BAFTAs
From the six Creative Europe-supported films nominated for 2019 BAFTAs, two won awards at the ceremony on Sunday 10 February.
The Favourite (UK, Ireland, USA) Yorgos Lanthimos' boldly original period romp, took home a grand total of seven prizes for:
- Outstanding British Film
- Leading Actress (Olivia Colman)
- Supporting Actress (Rachel Weisz)
- Costume Design
- Make-Up & Hair
- Original Screenplay
- Production Design
Beast (UK), the serial killer thriller from Michael Pearce, won the award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer.
In addition, this year's award for Outstanding Contribution to Cinema went to producers Stephen Woolley and Elizabeth Karlsen of Number 9 Films.
