Three UK production companies awarded Slate development funding
The latest results from Creative Europe's Slate development funding scheme have been published (call number EACEA 23/2018), with three UK companies successfully securing funding and sharing a total of €396,626. They are:
Among the selected UK applicants, two have received funding before: The Bureau and Spring Films, whilst Passion Pictures is a recipient of Creative Europe funding for the first time. This marks a 22% increase in the UK's success rate since the previous call for applications.
Overall, this funding round saw 178 applications submitted from 27 countries, the second highest number of applications since the beginning of the Creative Europe Programme (succeeded last year with 188). 71 companies were selected to share a total pot of just over €12.5 million.
The 71 slates proposed for funding contain a total of 270 projects, of which 63% are fiction, 23% are creative documentary and 14% are animation.

Slate development funding is designed to support independent production companies looking to development three to five projects with international potential for cinema, television and digital platforms.
