Projects announced for MeetMarket and Alternate Realities Market 2017

65 documentary film projects from 22 countries have been selected for Sheffield Doc/Fest’s MeetMarket together with 25 digital media projects from nine countries for the Alternate Realties Market.

The markets, which are funded through the MEDIA sub-programme’s Access to Markets scheme, run parallel to each other over two days at the festival on 12 and 13 within the MarketPlace strand of the festival.

At MeetMarket, which is one of the world’s largest documentary/factual markets and pitching forums, project teams have the opportunity to meet with over 300 international funders, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents and exhibitors and pitch their film and TV projects through individual match-made meetings. 22 UK projects take part.

The Alternate Realities Market offers project teams a chance to build partnerships and raise finance from the international market for their online, interactive, immersive and virtual reality projects, taking part in one-to-one meetings with funders, mentors, advisors and digital experts from across the world. 11 projects are from, or involve, the UK.

See the full list of selected projects on the Sheffield Doc/Fest website.  And look out for the nine films and VR ad interactive proects screening in this year's Sheffield Doc/Fest programme that have come through the markets:
