NFTS, Doc Society and ICO receive support through Creative Europe's Training scheme
In the latest round of funding from the MEDIA sub-programme’s Training scheme, 49 training courses have been awarded funding sharing a total of over €7 million. Three UK courses continue to receive funding:
- The National Film and Television School’s Inside Pictures
- Doc Society’s Impact Producers Lab
- Independent Cinema Office’s Developing Your Film Festival
127 applications from 30 countries were submitted to the latest call, an increase of 39% on the previous call in 2016. 55% of the applications were new proposals, with eight new initiatives receiving support including:
- Docu Rough Cut Boutique 2019-2021 (BG) - a regional training program aimed at creative documentaries at the post-production stage
- Midpoint Feature Launch (CZ) - a training and talent scouting platform
- Film+ (RO) - a training programme for filmmakers working with micro-budgets
- CEE Animation Workshop (SI) – a support programme aimed at Central and Eastern European animation professionals
- Emerging Producers (CZ) – a programme for up-and-coming producers working in the field of documentary
- Kids Film Pro (PL) - a one-year course for teams of professionals working in the development of children’s media
- NEXT WAVE (DE) - a cross-disciplinary nine-month post-graduate training programme in film and media distribution strategy
- European VoD Meetings (FR) – an initiative designed to encourage European VOD platforms to collaborate on a technical, artistic, marketing and management level
