I, Daniel Blake
2016 Palme d’Or winner I, Daniel Blake is a British drama directed by Ken Loach and written by Paul Laverty. The story centres on Daniel Blake, a joiner in the North East of England who needs help from the State for the first time following an illness.

Sixteen Films received Slate development funding for the film in 2015 and it is released by Entertainment One on 21 October.

 

How to Make a Ken Loach Film

This unique interactive film puts you on set with Ken Loach in production on his latest film, I, Daniel Blake. As well as throwing you into life on location, the film enables you to change the course of your viewing experience by offering at 10 key points the opportunity to delve deeper and watch expanded sections in which Loach and his collaboraters give further insight into a particular area.

How to Make A Ken Loach film is supported by the Slate Development scheme and is released in the UK on 21 October.

Phantom Boy
In French animation Phantom Boy, a boy from New York with super powers helps a wheelchair-bound policeman in his attempt to bring down a mob kingpin.

The film is supported for its distribution in 17 European countries. Soda Pictures release the film in the UK on 21 October.

 

Into the Inferno
Werner Herzog’s documentary Into the Inferno explores the relationship between the volcano, our planet and human society. Werner Herzog and the world’s leading volcanologist Clive Oppenheimer set out on a dangerous mission across the world in search of answers, taking us to the very edges of active volcanoes.

Spring Films received Slate development funding for the film in 2014. It is released in the UK on 28 October by Dogwoof.  

After Love
Belgian directors Joachim Lafosse’s latest film is an astute, intelligent and moving examination of modern relationships. The psychological drama depicts a divorcing couple who continue to share a home, starring Bérénice Bejo and Cédric Kahn.

The film was supported through the Automatic distribution scheme. Curzon Artificial Eye release it in the UK on 28 October.

 

The Team
The Team is a 2015 European crime drama television series that first premiered on 22 February 2015 in Denmark. The series follows investigators from Belgium, Denmark and Germany as they look into a string of murders across Europe.

The series comes out in the UK on Walter Presents
