Out in the Open by Jesús Carrasco

Launch of Creative Europe-supported book at European Literature Night

As part of European Literature Night, British Library hosts the launch of Out in the Open by Jesús Carrasco, which has recently been translated from Spanish to English with support from Creative Europe.

On Wednesday 13 May 2015 from 1-2pm, Spanish author Carrasco gives a short reading of his new book, Out in the Open, and talks to renowned translators Margaret Jull Costa and Daniel Hahn. Out in the Open is published by Harvill Secker, who last year received just over €31,000 for the translation, production and promotion of six titles.

Held simultaneously in 24 cities around the continent, European Literature Night is a highlight of the literary calendar. London is participating for the seventh year with an expanding programme at the British Library and other venues, bringing together discussions, spoken word performance showcase, special translation events and more. Come and see Creative Europe Desk UK at the British Library on 13 May to find out more about funding opportunities for publishers and literature organisations.
