Get ready for the next call for Literary Translation

The next call for Literary Translation funding will be open in April with a deadline in June (exact dates tbc). This funding opportunity supports publishers and publishing houses and enables the translation of literary work from one European language to another.

The fund aims to support cultural and linguistic diversity in Europe, promote the transnational circulation of high quality literary works, as well as to improve access to these literary works so that they can reach new audiences. Eligible costs include the translation, production and promotion of European fiction, poetry and plays.

Applications are scored against a set of award criteria and additional points are awarded for translating winners of the EU Prize for Literature.

The 2019 Guidelines will be published when the call goes out. In the meantime you can read the 2018 Guidelines for full details of the eligibility and award criteria.
