European Art Cinema Day 2018

Get ready for European Art Cinema Day 2018

European Art Cinema Day (EACD) returns this autumn for a third time, with cinemas across the world set to celebrate with special programmes of previews, children’s films and historical classics on 14 October.

Launched in 2016 by CICAE (International Confederation of Arthouse Cinemas) in partnership with Europa Cinemas and supported by Creative Europe, the event is designed to celebrate the artistic diversity of European arthouse film as well as to champion the work of cinema venues and networks.

Individual cinemas, or networks of cinemas, are encouraged to get involved and can register their interest on the European Art Cinema Day website directly.

In 2017, 18 UK cinemas participated in EACD with special preview screenings of Ruben Östlund’s Palme d’Or winner The Square taking place across the country, as well as showings of Loving Vincent, L'Amant Double and Sally Potter’s The Party .
