Four UK companies awarded Single Project and TV Programming funding
Two UK feature film projects were awarded funding for their development in this deadline: Frames of Reference Films received €30,000 for Four Divisions of the Soul and Sympathetic Ink €50,000 for their film Plutonium Club (which is co-funded by Silver Reel).
Andy Paterson of Sympathetic Ink says: “These funds make a colossal difference to companies like ours as we attempt to bring high quality feature film projects to the screen against the backdrop of a very challenging market.”
In total, 67 drama, documentary and animation projects were selected from across Europe, sharing a total of €2.7 million. Projects supported include new feature films from directors such as Lars von Trier and Laszlo Nemes.
Overall 437 applications were submitted to the deadline on 21 April 2016 (call number 18/2015).
Through the TV Programming scheme, Aardman Animations, has been awarded €300,000 for their animation project Tottington Hall, and Banyak Films has received €50,000 for documentary Thank You for the Rain (formerly Before the Flood).
From the 82 applications submitted to the deadline in May (call number 21/2015), 29 companies from 18 countries were successful.
New calls have just been published for both of these schemes, with deadlines coming up in November. Find out more about either the Single Project scheme or the TV Programming scheme, including information on the current calls and how to apply, on our website.
