Five Golden Lions for Creative Europe titles
Three Creative Europe-supported films took home five awards at at the 72nd Venice Film Festival this weekend.
The European Commission has invested around €171,000 through the Creative Europe's MEDIA sub-programme to support the distribution of these films.
French drama L'Hermine by Christian Vincent (France) won Best Screenplay Award and Fabrice Luchini scooped the Coppa Volpi prize for Best Actor. Venice’s Collateral Awards, which are prizes assigned independently by film critics and cultural associations, saw the P. Nazareno Taddei Award go to Marguerite by Xavier Giannoli (France, Czech Republic, Belgium). A Bigger Splash by Luca Guadagnino (Italy, France) also took home a pair of prizes: The Soundtrack Stars Award and Best Innovative Budget Award.
