First results of IDFA Bertha Fund's European programme announced
The results of IDFA Bertha Fund Europe (IBF Europe), which is funded through Creative Europe's International Co-production Funds scheme, have been revealed. A total of €330,000 is awarded to nine projects.
A new sub-category of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA)'s Bertha Fund, IBF Europe aims to stimulate collaboration between independent European producers and those from developing countries by supporting the production and distribution of co-produced documentaries.
A project with UK involvement has been selected in each of the two funding categories:
- IBF Europe: International Co-production Support
The Last Year of Congo Mirador by Anabel Rodríguez Ríos, a co-production between Sancocho Publico (Venezuela), Polo de Imagem (Brazil) and Spiraleye Productions (England)
- IBF Europe: Distribution for International Co-productions
Ukrainian Sheriffs by Roman Bondarchuk, a co-production between SOUTH (Ukraine), VFS Films (Latvia), Taskovski Films (UK) and distribution partner, the Institute for Transmedia Design (Slovenia)
