First films and documentaries join EFA awards nominees
A selection of five directors' first features have been announced to join the nominees competing for the European Film Awards, which will take place in Berlin, Germany, on 12 December 2015. These films are in the running for the European Discovery FIPRESCI Prize, which is presented annually to an up-and-coming director for their debut full-length film. The selection includes UK/New Zealand co-production Slow West, alongside films from Austria, Germany and France.
In addition, the European Film Academy (EFA) has announced a Documentary Selection for the first time in the awards' history. A list of 15 films have been selected, including Amy and A Syrian Love Story from the UK.
