Eurimages supports 23 co-productions
At its 155th meeting held from 24 to 28 June 2019 in Geneva, the Board of Management of the Council of Europe's Eurimages Fund agreed to support 17 fiction films, two documentaries and four animation projects for a total amount of €6.2 million.
Although the UK is not a member of Eurimages, one of the selected projects, Nowhere Special by Uberto Pasolini has UK involvement. Earlier this year the film was also selected for Berlinale's Co-Production Market. The project is a co-production between Italy, Romania and the UK.
Other notable projects include Leos Carax's romantic musical Annette, starring Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard. Joachim Trier, who received Eurimages support for his last two features: Thelma and Louder Than Bombs, has been selected once again for his latest project The Worst Person In The World. His was also the project to receive the highest grant, with a total of €470,000.
Eurimages' support aims to promote co-productions between their member states, with four calls for projects happening each year. Find out more about their upcoming deadlines here.
