Creative Europe supports 40 international sales companies with €3 million

The latest results from Creative Europe’s annual funding opportunity for sales agents have been published, seeing 40 companies from eight countries sharing a total of €3 million.

The grants are awarded to sales agents based on their performance selling European films and can be used to reinvest in minimum guarantees or advances paid for the international sales rights of non-national European films as well as costs relating to the promotion, marketing and advertising of those films.

In this round, three UK sales companies have been successful, HanwayAltitude Films and WestEnd Films, sharing €126,304 between them.

Once again, the largest subsidy was generated by French sales company Studiocanal (€438,952) and over half of the total fund has been allocated to French companies in general. Overall, the five companies to secure the most funding are:

  • Studiocanal
  • Wild Bunch
  • Le Pacte
  • Pathe Films
  • Gaumont
