Creative Europe events at the 69th Berlinale

European Film Forum 

Save the date for the European Commission's European Film Forum, the theme for which is 'Subtitling and Dubbing' and will focus on how technology can revolutionise the circulation of European Works and foster cultural diversity. Taking place at the Ritz-Carlton hotel on Monday 11 February from 2 - 5 pm.

Speakers include representatives from the likes of Italian prodution company Wild Side (My Brilliant Friend, The Young Pope), international sales company The Match Factory (The Lunchbox, 45 Years, Victoria), Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon (The Breadwinner) and MUBI Topics on the the agenda include:

  • How technology is helping to make European works more accessible
  • Circulating audiovisual content in a multilingual digital market
  • How do we best develop emerging technologies within the industry 

You can view the full programme on the European Commission website. For those unable to attend, the event will be livestreamed. 

There will also be a networking cocktail after the public event from 5:30 - 7 pm, which is open for people to attend. 

In addition, the EFF will feature a discussion on the development of the Directory of European films in view of the launch of the beta version in the spring 2019 and a roundtable on gender in the audiovisual sector. Both of these events are invitation only, and will take place parallel to the public event on subtitling.

Sino-European Production Seminar

Creative Europe-funded initiative Bridging the Dragon and the European Film Market present this seminar aimed at providing an effective platform to connect the Chinese and European film industries. The seminar includes a panel introducing the latest updates on the Chinese film market and a practical workshop.
